Communication tools & Documentation
Communication tools
Online meetings were held in the Teams environment. Time differences had to be taken into account in the arrangements for meetings and appointments.
The technological challenges of the connections were limited to the audibility of the voice.
Before starting the project, we could not ensure that both schools use the same software in their teaching. This is mostly due to information security, which in each country has been handled on behalf of the education organizer, and individual teachers cannot influence it.
Because of this, teachers in both countries gave and evaluated assignments using their own tools. Communication between the teachers took place via e-mail.
Heikinpohja school in Savonlinna uses Google tools. In education, the best online program has proven to be Google Classroom, which was used to distribute and evaluate the tasks of this project as well. With the same program, it was also possible to share tables related to observing nature, which the students filled in based on their observations, and which could be viewed collectively in real time via the Google Sites website software.
Documentation
Both schools participating in the project were given free way to document the progress of the project. This is because we could not use common information technology tools that could have collected information in a common place.
Below are the links to the documentation of both schools.
